1 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 tablespoon fructose (optional), 5 large mealie cobs, (raw) Cut the mielies from the cob and put through a mincer. Mix all the ingredients. Place in a buttered pudding mold or tin. Steam for 2 hours. The bread may also be baked in a bread tin in a moderate oven (180C) for 30 to 45 minutes. To serve, cut into slices and serve hot with butter and honey.
