½ cups soy grits, 3 cups water, additional 1 cup chopped dates, 1 cup chopped walnuts, 1 cup desiccated coconut, 1 cup chopped dates ( in addition to the first cup ) 2 tablespoons tahini, 1 cup chopped raisins, 1 cup wheat germ or oat bran or soya bran. Soak soya grits overnight with 1 cup chopped dates an 3 cups of water. Blend until smooth with the tahini. Stir in additional cup of chopped dates, raisins, walnuts, wheat germ and coconut. Place in greased, paper lined tin and bake at 170 degrees C for about 80 to 90 minutes. Cool in tin. When completely cold, wrap in paper then in clean cloth. Leave for at least 2 days before slicing. ( can be kept for up to 2 weeks, wrapped in cloth ) Top with: DELECTABLE DATE TOPPING 1 ½ cups chopped, pitted dates, juice of ½ lemon, 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon, 2 cups water Place all in a small saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and cook, stirring until creamy. Decorate with walnuts and enjoy.
