Dairy-free white sauce


Bring 300g prepared rice milk, soya milk or oats milk to the boil. Mix 3 tablespoons maizena with cup rice, soya or oats milk When milk starts to boil, remove from heat and add slowly the maizena mixture, put back on the stove and simmer until sauce thickens, stirring continuously. Flavor to taste with mustard powder, salt and black pepper VARIATION Add crushed garlic and herbs for a garlic sauce Add 2 tablespoons nutritional yeast for a "cheesy" sauce Add sliced mushrooms for a mushroom sauce Add chopped, cooked asparagus for an asparagus sauce
