4 cups water, 2 cups bulgur wheat, 2 tabs oil, 1 diced onion, 2 grated beetroot, 2 diced carrots, ˝ head cabbage finely chopped, 3 tabs tamari or soya sauce, 1 tsp garlic powder. In a large pot, heat the water to a boil. Add the bulgur wheat and reduce heat, cook for 20 minutes until the bulgur wheat is soft and the water absorbed. Set aside. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add he onion and sauté for 3 minutes. Add the beetroot, carrots and cabbage and sauté for 7 minutes more, add the seasoning and remove from heat. Combine with the prepared bulgur wheat. Shape the batter into burgers and place on oiled cookie sheets. Bake for 10 minutes then turn over and bake for another 10 minutes. Serve on bread rolls with a fresh salad.
